Montserrat rock climbing Cavall Bernat - Regular Route

The most iconic needle of Montserrat - Climbable for (almost) everyone.

They climbed this route in 1935 when it was considered impossible. Maybe that was the reason: they didn't know it was impossible.
The regular route is the shortest way to reach the peak, with a mandatory crux movement of V+. The rest is easy to climb.
Don't hesitate to give it a try if you can, and for sure, you'll bring unforgettable memories back home.

  • We went on one day climbing in Monserrat with Francesc as a guide. He suggested a multi pitch climbing. It was our first ever multi pitch and a highlight of out trip to Spain. He was professional, friendly and knowledgeable. Thanks, Francesc. You make it very tempting to come back next year.

  • I have previous multi pitch climbing experience and relied on Francesc to choose an intermediate route that would be interesting but not stressful for me (I'm recovering from an injury.) I had contacted multiple climbing guides in the region to inquire, and Francesc stood out in being most helpful. He was able to provide topos and recommendations in his messages, and his information on what to expect day-of was spot on. On the approach hike he told many stories and factoids about the area, which was interesting. The climb was fantastic and I felt very safe the whole time. Great experience.
